Science for Seminaries Faculty Enrichment Retreat Application

Eligibility & Required Materials

Application Materials:

  • Abbreviated CV (max 4 pages)
  • Letter of support from Dean or another supervising administrator at your institution
  • Sample template of syllabus for at least one course in which the applicant has attempted to or plans to integrate science

Deadline and Decisions:

  • All applications must be received by May 8, 2020 at 11:59pm PDT.
  • Decisions on applications will be announced on or before June 5, 2020.

Eligibility:

  • The workshop is only open to faculty from an ATS-accredited institution who teach core curriculum course(s) at their seminary or divinity school (e.g. Biblical Studies, Church History, Pastoral Theology, and Systematic Theology). Eligible faculty include tenured, tenure-track, and fixed-term faculty, as well as administrative staff (e.g., Deans, Provosts) as long as they have substantial teaching duties.
  • No more than one applicant from the same school will be selected to attend the workshop, but more than one person from the same school may apply. Faculty from the past and current AAAS Science for Seminaries grant-funded seminaries are not eligible to apply. 
  • Employees of AAAS, The John Templeton Foundation, or The Templeton Religion Trust, or their affiliates, subsidiaries, and their immediate family members or persons living in the same household are not eligible.

Provided:

  • Travel, lodging, and meals will be covered by AAAS
